Blue Diner’s released a single based around a cover version of The Cure’s Figurehead. So, in keeping with The Cure’s identity, we chose to use the color scheme of black and red.
After that, I chose to use custom photography from naval museums located in different parts of the world.
Art directing Model Behavior’s album presented an interesting challenge. Working with designers from Basement 247 studios, we wanted to come up with a “retro-synthesizer.” The idea was to capture the synthpop stylings of a retro age, with a modern feel of today’s trends.
Designing the first Auto-bridge single, “Distance Goodbye” was a challenge. The artist truly became the client. While the band had a shoegaze feel, the band was absolutely obsessed with NASA and the space program.
We ended up using photos that we took at a Skylab exhibit in Houston, Texas.
